Residential Supervisor

Northeast Center for Youth & Families, Inc. (NCYF) is looking for responsible, detail-oriented Residential Supervisors to assist in managing the day-to-day functioning of our youth therapeutic group homes. 

NCYF Residential Supervisors assist in maintaining the group home schedule for adequate staff coverage and performance, ensuring proper staff-to-client ratio at all times.

An effective Residential Supervisor is organized and adaptable to coverage changes, is able to problem-solve, and communicate clearly and constructively with direct care staff within the group home. 

Residential Supervisors at NCYF oversee direct care staff while on-shift, make constructive recommendations as to staffing matters, and maintain group home site compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring then safety and quality of life of at-risk youth clients as well as staff. 

A successful Residential Supervisor is dependable and has strong time-management and budgeting skills; NCYF Residential Supervisors are responsible for managing the residential group home budget, purchasing household items as needed, and maintaining proper accounting in accordance with NCYF's purchasing system. 


NCYF Residential Supervisors are required to review and monitor compliance with written documentation such as client reports, staff logs, and supervisory notes as required in a timely manner. Additionally, Residential Supervisors participate in implementing and monitoring treatment plans and compile information as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned or requested by Supervisor.

Requirements include the following:

  •  Associate’s degree in related field or youth services supervisory experience of at least 2 years; Bachelor's degree in related field or youth services supervisory experience of at least 2 years
  • Must have broad knowledge of non-profit administration and child protective systems
  • Approved CORI & DCF background checks (preformed by the EEC)
  • Approved driving background check
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
